Summary of Position

The School Director is responsible to oversee the daily operations, enrollment and education of Little Sprouts and Harvest Christian Academy (LSA/HCA), including staff supervision and scheduling, human resources, event planning, facilities, budget management, state licensing oversight and communication with families. This position is responsible for cultivating a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow physically, emotionally, socially, intellectually, and spiritually. The School Director upholds and promotes the mission, vision, and values of the school as an integrated auxiliary ministry of Glendive Alliance Church (GAC).

LSA/HCA promotes and teaches Christian values through a developmentally-appropriate curriculum, supports parents and children, and fosters a partnership with the greater community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in education, leadership, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 2 years of experience in an early childhood or education setting
  • 2 years of experience in education administration and/or classroom teaching
  • Qualify as a Lead Teacher or Higher on the ECP Practitioner Registry
  • 2+ years basic bookkeeping experience
  • Have or are able to obtain current certification for hands-on infant, child and adult CPR and infant choking response, and standard first aid
  • Exceptional verbal, written, electronic communication skills with a variety of stakeholders
  • Exhibit an understanding of and sensitivity to children's needs and development
  • Be a born-again Christian who professes faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Agree with and uphold the GAC statement of faith and Christian community standards
  • Demonstrate consistent, biblical love and care for children and their families
  • Meet state immunization, background checks and health attestation requirements
  • Positive, gracious, and service-minded attitude at all times
  • Excellent computer skills including Google Drive, Canva, Gmail, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Montana Elementary Education Licensure
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a licensed early care and education setting

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation of Little Sprouts and Harvest Christian Academy
  • Manage financial transactions and basic bookkeeping
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with Glendive Alliance Church pastor and staff
  • Lead staff in all aspects of their job responsibilities
  • Ensure that at all times LSA/HCA is meeting or exceeding state requirements
  • Proactively ensure the facility is safe, welcoming and well-maintained
  • Operate within an approved budget
  • Cookordinate with GAC staff regarding facilities, events and ministry opportunities
  • Ensure that all staff members meet education and training requirements
  • Communicate with families about relevant policies, activities, schedule changes etc.
  • Serve as a substitute teacher as needed
  • Implement a solution-focused, proactive, consistent approach to organizational management
  • Foster continuity and consistency across LSA/HCA including coordinated schedules
  • Support staff and families with classroom and student behavior management strategies
  • Assist the Board of Directors and Executive Director with other duties as assigned

Continuing Education Requirements

  • 16 hours of approved training annually
