School Counselor - Middle School LTS

Job Summary

Monticello Middle School is seeking a long term substitute to support the students and operations of the middle school. The School Counselor provides direct and indirect services to students experiencing social, emotional, and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school, and facilitates communication among school, home, and community providers.

Essential Skills

• Awareness of best practices for student counseling/procedures
• Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism and ethical practices
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students and families
• Experience working with diverse students and families
