School Counselor
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated school counselor with an active and valid PA PK-12 School Counselor (or Secondary School Counselor) Certification. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and personal growth, particularly during early adolescence. This role involves addressing issues such as peer conflict, family stress, and academic struggles through direct service.
The candidate will deliver classroom and small-group lessons on topics including college and career planning, academic and executive functioning skills, and CVSD's Portrait of an Eagle competencies. Collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families is essential, as is designing and implementing 504 plans and connecting students and families to community resources.
Requirements
- Active and valid PA PK-12 School Counselor (or Secondary School Counselor) Certification
- Previous experience as a secondary school counselor preferred
- Strong skills in supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and personal development
Clearances & Documentation
If hired, the applicant must provide the following (all clearances must be current at time of hire):
- Criminal Record Check (less than one year old)
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance (less than one year old)
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance (less than one year old)
- TB Test/Mantoux (less than 3 months old)
- Physical examination (if applicable, less than 1 year old)
