School Bus Driver Training Program (with no CDL)

About the role

Become a school bus driver for Holcomb Bus! We offer comprehensive training including classroom and behind-the-wheel sessions, covering all aspects of becoming a licensed school bus driver. Costs for the CDL training are covered by the company.

Responsibilities

• Earn your Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
• Receive training for behind the wheel driving
• Be paid $28.00 per hour once you start driving, plus a sign-on bonus
• Work 20 hours a week, Monday through Friday, averaging approximately 20 hours per week
• Work 2 hours in the morning between 6 AM-9:30 AM
• Work 2 hours in the afternoon between 1:00 PM-5 PM

Requirements

• Valid NJ driver license in good standing for the past 3 years
• At least 21 years old or older
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English
• Pass a background check from age 18 onwards
• Pass a DOT drug test (marijuana is legal in NJ but not for a CDL)

Qualifications

• Must be able to respond appropriately to students' needs during routes
• Must be able to notify proper personnel of emergency and safety issues
