Responsibilities: Vehicle Operation & SafetyOperate school vehicles (buses, vans, etc.) safely and efficiently, strictly adhering to all traffic laws, transit regulations, and school policies.Ensure all passengers are safely seated before moving and maintain a safe environment while the vehicle is in motion.Navigate assigned routes with precision, ensuring students enter and exit only at designated stops.Maintain order on the vehicle, enforcing rules of conduct and explaining safety procedures to passengers as needed.Maintenance & CompliancePre-Trip Inspections: Conduct daily safety checks (tires, lights, oil, fluid levels) and report any mechanical issues to the manager immediately.Cleanliness: Maintain a "broom clean" interior daily, ensuring vehicles are free of debris and garbage.Reporting: Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and fuel for each run.Communication & LogisticsCommunicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, faculty, and staff.Proactively report delays, route issues, or emergencies to management.Perform test runs of new or adjusted routes to ensure confidence and safety prior to transporting students. Qualifications: Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Clean Driving History: Must demonstrate a clean driving record (as defined by Campus Services Group) for the last 5 years.Licensing & CertificationsCDL Class B: Commercial Driver’s License.Endorsements: Passenger (P) endorsement, the School Bus (S) endorsement, and the removal of the Air Brake (L) restriction.CPR/AED certification preferred. Compliance & Physical DemandsMust be able to sit for extended periods and perform vehicle evacuations if necessary.Willingness to submit to background checks and random drug screenings.Consent to confidential DMV/MVR record monitoring.
