School Bus Driver

Role Overview A School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and related activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and effective behavior management. The role involves maintaining a welcoming environment, conducting vehicle inspections, and communicating effectively with students, parents, and staff. Key Responsibilities Operate school buses and commercial vehicles following traffic laws and safety regulationsTransport students to designated locations, including schools and eventsEnforce behavior policies and maintain order on the busPerform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections for safety and cleanlinessAssist students with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needsMaintain accurate records of routes, attendance, and incidentsFollow all relevant transportation regulationsCommunicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, possibly using multilingual skills Qualifications & Skills Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferredExperience in bus or commercial driving, with prior school bus experience highly valuedStrong communication skills and ability to interact with children and adultsMechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenance and troubleshootingExperience working with children or in childcare is advantageousMultilingual abilities or experience in related fields beneficial Additional Information This is a full-time role offering benefits such as health and dental insurance, retirement plans, paid training, and tuition reimbursement, with in-person work required.
