School Bus Driver

Role Overview: We are seeking a responsible School Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school and activities. The role requires strong driving skills, effective communication, and a genuine interest in working with children. The driver must adhere to safety protocols, enforce behavior management policies, and ensure a positive transportation experience, fostering a welcoming environment during routes. Key Responsibilities Operate school buses and commercial vehicles safely, following traffic laws and safety regulationsTransport students to designated locations, including schools and extracurricular activitiesMaintain passenger safety by enforcing behavior policies and managing conduct on the busConduct vehicle inspections for safety and cleanliness before and after tripsCommunicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and dispatchers, utilizing multilingual skills if neededAssist students with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needsKeep accurate records of routes, attendance, and incidentsFollow all transportation laws and regulations at federal, state, and local levels Qualifications & Skills Proven experience in bus or commercial driving; school bus or paratransit experience preferredStrong communication skills for interaction with children, parents, and staffMechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and minor troubleshooting is advantageousExperience working with children or in childcare enhances understanding of student needsMultilingual abilities or background in senior care or teaching are beneficialValid driver’s license with a clean record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferredAbility to write reports related to transportation activities is a plus Additional Information: This is a full-time position offering benefits such as health and dental insurance, retirement plans, paid training, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.
