School Bus Driver

Role Overview: A School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and related activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and effective behavior management. Key Responsibilities Operate school buses and commercial vehicles following traffic laws and safety regulationsTransport students to designated locations, including schools, extracurricular activities, and eventsEnforce behavior policies and maintain order on the bus to ensure passenger safetyConduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections for safety and cleanlinessCommunicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and dispatchers, utilizing multilingual skills if neededAssist students during boarding and disembarking, including those with special needsMaintain accurate records of routes, attendance, and incidentsFollow all transportation-related federal, state, and local regulations Qualifications & Skills Proven or preferred experience in bus or commercial driving, especially in school transportation or paratransit servicesStrong communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and staffKnowledge of vehicle maintenance and minor troubleshooting is advantageousExperience working with children or in childcare enhances understanding of student needsMultilingual abilities or experience in caregiving or teaching can be beneficialValid driver’s license with a clean record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferredAbility to write reports or documentation related to transportation activities Benefits & Additional Information: The role offers full-time employment with competitive hourly pay, and benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, retirement plans, paid training, and tuition reimbursement.
