Role Overview: A School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and related activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and fostering a positive environment during routes. Key Responsibilities Operate buses and commercial vehicles safely, following traffic laws and safety regulationsTransport students to schools, events, and extracurricular activitiesEnforce behavior management policies to maintain order and ensure passenger safetyConduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections for safety and cleanlinessCommunicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and dispatchers, utilizing multilingual skills if neededAssist students with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needsMaintain accurate records of routes, attendance, and incidentsFollow all transportation regulations and safety standards Qualifications & Skills Proven experience in bus or commercial driving; school bus experience preferredStrong communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and staffMechanical knowledge for routine vehicle inspections and minor repairsExperience working with children or in childcare enhances understanding of student needsValid driver’s license with a clean record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferredMultilingual abilities and documentation skills are advantageous This full-time role offers benefits such as health and dental insurance, retirement plans, paid training, and tuition reimbursement, with a focus on safety, communication, and student support.
