School Bus Driver

Role Overview: A School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and related activities, ensuring a positive and secure experience. They must adhere to safety protocols, enforce behavior management policies, and maintain a welcoming environment during routes. Key Responsibilities Operate school buses and commercial vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and safety regulationsTransport students to various locations, including schools and extracurricular eventsEnsure passenger safety by managing behavior and maintaining orderConduct vehicle inspections and ensure cleanliness and safetyCommunicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and dispatchers, utilizing multilingual skills if neededAssist students with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needsKeep accurate records of routes, attendance, and incidentsFollow all transportation-related regulations Qualifications & Skills Experience in bus or commercial driving; prior school bus experience is preferredStrong communication skills, especially with children and parentsMechanical knowledge for routine vehicle inspectionsExperience working with children or in childcare is advantageousMultilingual abilities or experience in senior care or teaching are beneficialValid driver’s license with a clean record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferredAbility to complete reports and documentation related to transportation activities
