School Bus Driver

About the Role

A School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a positive environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate buses safely following traffic laws and safety regulations
• Transport students to designated locations and events
• Enforce behavior management policies and maintain order
• Conduct vehicle inspections for safety and cleanliness
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and dispatchers
• Assist students, including those with special needs
• Maintain accurate records of routes and incidents
• Follow transportation regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience in bus or commercial driving, with preference for school bus experience
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with children and staff
• Mechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
• Ability to write reports related to transportation activities

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience working with children or in childcare is advantageous
• Multilingual abilities or experience in senior care or teaching can be beneficial
