About the role
Interim Healthcare of Scranton, Pennsylvania is now hiring School-Based Intervention Specialists for the school year 2026-2027.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to students with emotional and behavioral needs
- Serve as the monitor/support during crisis situations in the classroom
- Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors and promote student safety
- Work collaboratively with teachers, aides, and behavioral staff
- Support the student’s daily routines, including academics, transitions, and behavioral goals
Requirements
- MUST have a Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
- MUST have a minimum of one (1) year working with children or young adults with behavioral, emotional, and/or personal care needs
- MUST have the ability to remain calm and take initiative during high-stress situations
- MUST have strong communication and teamwork skills
- MUST have the ability to commit to one full school year
- MUST be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Qualifications

Pay

Schedule
- Follows the school calendar with weekends, holidays (unpaid), and summers off
- Summer schedule: Evening and Overnight hours commonly offered in various settings such as group homes, personal care homes, and in-home care. Occasional daytime hours may be offered at summer camps, ESY, or on weekends.
