Brief Description

Sagent Behavioral Health is seeking a School Based Therapy Intern to support children, adolescents, and their families in a school setting. The intern will provide mental health services, assist in goal-setting, and collaborate with school personnel and community agencies.

About the Role

This role provides culturally responsive mental health skills to clients, assists in goal-setting, and collaborates with school districts and community agencies. The intern also designs and implements therapeutic groups and attends clinical staff meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally responsive mental health skills to children, adolescents, and their families in a school setting.
  • Aid children, adolescents, and their families in identifying goals for functional improvement and working with them to achieve those goals.
  • Create and implement treatment/intervention plans reflective of the client's needs.
  • Collaborate with the school district, school personnel divisions, and other community-based agencies.
  • Offer psychoeducation to school staff.
  • Design and implement therapeutic groups for students.
  • Attend and participate in all clinical staff meetings, supervision sessions, and trainings.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology (aiming for LMHC, LISW, or LP licenses).
  • LISW track students encouraged to apply; MFT students are not suitable for this placement.
  • Experience or volunteer work related to behavioral health is preferred.
  • Candidates must be completing a formal practicum or internship through their graduate program.
  • Show professionalism and integrity.

Pay

Total earnings for this position will include a monthly stipend of $1,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as licensure, experience, skillset, internal equity, schedule, and location. Employees in these positions are W2.

Schedule

The start date is Fall 2026, and the employee type is 0.25 - 1.0 FTE - Full Time or Part Time.

Qualifications

Must be pursuing a master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology (aiming for LMHC, LISW, or LP licenses).
