About the role

The School-Based Therapist at OhioGuidestone provides diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, therapy, counseling, and support services for adolescents and families. Services are provided in both school and community settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling and psychotherapy to assigned caseload, including specialty therapeutic services.
  • Develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients, families, and caregivers.
  • Respond to mental health emergencies in a culturally responsive manner.
  • Identify appropriate interventions for clients in crisis and engage community partners.
  • Coordinate with other professionals and community resources as needed.
  • Document client and family interactions accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in treatment conferences and meetings.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with assigned professionals.
  • Accurately document and maintain client and family interactions including legal, financial, and clinical documentation.
  • Attend and participate in regular supervision.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field of study, preferably in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual differences, and psychological research methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, time management, and proficiency in computer skills, including Electronic Health Records and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to provide services in various settings, including offices, schools, and community settings.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
