School Based Therapist - Callaway County

School-Based Programs

Arthur Center is looking for a compassionate, skilled School-Based Therapist to join our School-Based Programs team and bring behavioral health services directly into the schools where students need them most. In this role, you will provide individual and group therapy, psycho-education, and crisis intervention to students referred for services - working closely with school personnel, families, and clinical colleagues to build a seamless support system around every young person in your care.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and provide therapy to students, developing individualized treatment plans and updating them as needed.
• Deliver individual, family, and group therapy sessions, crisis intervention services, and coordinate with ACI (Access Crisis Intervention) staff.
• Collaborate with school personnel, providing clinical consultation and education as necessary.
• Maintain positive relationships with referral sources and other departments across the organization.
• Document all services accurately in the electronic health record, meeting all documentation guidelines and HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Strong relationship skills including problem solving, conflict resolution, collaborative relationship-building, and risk assessment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce thorough, timely clinical documentation.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to both safety and quality of services.
• Self-directed and able to work independently in a school setting using sound clinical judgment.
• Flexible, non-judgmental, and open-minded while maintaining healthy professional boundaries.
• Team-oriented with a genuine appreciation for diversity and inclusion.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, or marriage and family therapy required.
• Education and/or Experience Qualifications: Master's degree in a licensure-eligible field such as Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
• Actively licensed or on track to become licensed as one of the following: Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (PLMFT/LMFT).
• Active licensure in a therapeutic discipline required.
• Minimum of one year of direct mental health experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting required.
• Experience working with youth and school-based populations strongly preferred.
