Arthur Center is seeking a compassionate, skilled School-Based Therapist to join our School-Based Programs team and bring behavioral health services directly into the schools where students need them most. This role involves conducting initial evaluations and assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, providing individual, family, and group therapy, delivering crisis intervention services, collaborating with school personnel, and documenting services accurately.
- Conduct initial evaluations and assessments following school referral with eligibility determination and parental or guardian consent, and make appropriate treatment and referral recommendations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with clearly defined services and interventions; update plans as clinically appropriate.
- Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy according to each student's treatment needs.
- Provide psycho-education to school staff and students as requested.
- Deliver crisis intervention services or coordinate with ACI (Access Crisis Intervention) staff to provide those services for current therapy clients.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with school personnel, coordinating services and providing clinical consultation as appropriate.
- Provide education and outreach activities to schools and the broader community as appropriate.
- Maintain positive relationships with referral sources and other departments across the organization.
- Treat students, family members, school personnel, and colleagues with dignity and respect at all times.
- Document all services accurately in the electronic health record, meeting all documentation guidelines and HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
- Maintain records of consumer contacts as defined by the organization to fulfill reporting and quality improvement requirements.
- Meet established productivity expectations.
- Aid with other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge of youth mental health diagnoses, evidence-based treatment practices, and clinical interventions.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care and sensitivity to cultural diversity across student populations.
Familiarity with public education systems, school culture, and school-based service delivery.
Strong relationship skills including problem solving, conflict resolution, collaborative relationship-building, and risk assessment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce thorough, timely clinical documentation.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to both safety and quality of services.
Self-directed and able to work independently in a school setting using sound clinical judgment.
Flexible, non-judgmental, and open-minded while maintaining healthy professional boundaries.
Team-oriented with a genuine appreciation for diversity and inclusion.
Master's degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, or marriage and family therapy required.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications: Master's degree in a licensure-eligible field such as Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
Actively licensed or on track to become licensed as one of the following: Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (PLMFT/LMFT)
Active licensure in a therapeutic discipline required.
Minimum of one year of direct mental health experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting required.
Experience working with youth and school-based populations strongly preferred.
