About the role

Reporting to our Director of School-Based Services, the School-Based Program Specialist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating clients experiencing mental health and psychological distress within the school setting, with the addition of administrative responsibilities focused on the growth, development, and management of the school-based program.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement processes and policies for the Telehealth component of the school-based program.
  • Manage the Telehealth component of the school-based program.
  • Communicate with school personnel/corporations to establish connections for future school-based services.
  • Aid in managing the school-based client list to ensure students are being matched efficiently.
  • Attend regular program development meetings with the Director of School-based services
  • Attend staff and applicable team meetings.
  • Maintain caseload expectations by conducting evidence-based individual therapy and group therapy sessions during the school year and summer months.
  • Consult with the school’s guidance staff when needed to ensure effective treatment for students.
  • Create content for the school-based program, PillarsU training (as needed), and Pillars website (i.e. blog articles).
  • Additional tasks may be assigned by the Director of School-Based Services as deemed necessary for the growth and development of the school-based program.

Requirements

  • Valid mental health licensure LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAC, LPCC, Clinical Psychology PsyD/PhD, or other (eligible within next 3-6 months)
  • National Provider Identifier NPI number
  • Completed Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare CAQH application
  • Individual professional malpractice liability insurance policy ($1mil/$3mil)

Qualifications

  • Experience in school-based mental health counseling
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with school personnel and families
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
