About the role

The School-Based Health Center Charge Nurse will provide patient care to school-aged patients at our three School Clinics. This role acts as a charge nurse for the Patient Care Team, identifying barriers to care and encouraging patients and their families to engage in their health.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs, answer questions, provide assistance and education to patients.

  • Provide direct patient care in compliance with RiverStone Health policies and school district policies.

  • Measure and record patients' vital signs, administer prescribed medications, and make appointments.

  • Document care provided in electronic medical records and review patient medical records regularly.

  • Identify and refer clients to appropriate community resources and programs.

  • Communicate and coordinate with other healthcare providers and community agencies.

  • Order supplies and manage inventory for multiple sites.

  • Manage and oversee the VFC program for multiple sites, including monitoring vaccine temperatures.

  • Coordinate the day-to-day work of clinic staff in the absence of the program manager.

  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and coaching of team members.

  • Make presentations to community partners and local organizations.

  • Actively promote School-Based services in clinic and outreach settings within the schools and community.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required.

  • Considerable patient care and nursing experience: 3 to 5 years.

  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

  • Medical terminology training or experience.

  • Experience working with underserved populations.

  • Experience working in a customer service environment.

Qualifications

  • Current driver’s license in the state of MT.

  • Registered Nurse in the state of Montana in good standing.

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to maintain a calm and positive demeanor during difficult client interactions.

  • Ability to display non-judgmental and empathetic listening skills.

  • High degree of detail-oriented skill level.

  • Knowledge and understanding of protected sensitive patient health information (HIPAA) and confidentiality.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a positive work environment.

  • Ability to perform job duties with integrity and innovation to ensure completion and a high level of quality.

  • Excellent communication skills to ensure efficiencies and quality customer service.

  • Ability to accurately access the physical, emotional, and psychological state of clients.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, using both technical and non-technical language as appropriate to the situation.

  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn and use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology.

  • Knowledge of community resources, services, and programs available to assist clients.

Pay

$34.52 to $55.60 hourly; depending on number of years of transferrable experience and internal equity.

Schedule

Monday-Friday; 8am to 5pm.
