School Based Behavioral Health Technician

About the role

CenClear is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our Community and School-Based Behavioral Health (CSBBH) team. This role provides intensive therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families, empowering them to build resilience and achieve success.

Responsibilities

  • Work 40 hours per week, year-round, providing direct behavioral health support at the St. Marys Middle School within the Saint Marys Area School District.
  • Provide behavioral and therapeutic support to students using a variety of treatment approaches, including the family systems model.
  • Be available during school hours and at least two evenings per week to support client needs.
  • Conduct functional assessments to evaluate client and family strengths, functioning, and the presence of co-occurring disorders.
  • Develop and implement strengths-based treatment plans, complete timely progress notes, and maintain all required documentation.
  • Apply trauma-informed care principles tailored to each client or family.
  • Foster a collaborative and therapeutic environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff on behavioral health topics as needed.
  • Facilitate and participate in team meetings and case reviews to support treatment goals.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with clients, families, and school staff.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to provide crisis intervention and triage support.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the management team.

Requirements

  • To be considered for this role, candidates must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, education, criminal justice, or a related human services field (no prior experience required).
  • OR Bachelor's degree in any other field plus at least one year of full-time paid experience working directly with children or adolescents (per MA 08-06-15 Bulletin).
  • OR Certification to provide BHT services, including one of the following: BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst), RBT (Registered Behavior Technician), BCAT (Board Certified Autism Technician), Behavioral health or analysis certification from an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Qualifications

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, to meet client needs.
  • Reliable transportation for community-based work.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Must obtain PA State Police Criminal History, PA Child Abuse, FBI Criminal History, and Mandated Reporter.

Pay

$21.56 per hour
