School Aide

About the Role

Providing assistance to teachers, students, and administrative staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of daily activities within the school setting. This position may be available at multiple Legacy Traditional Schools campuses. During the interview process, we'll discuss your preferred location(s) and current openings. Please note that not all locations may have active vacancies at the time you apply, and placement will be based on current hiring needs and availability.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direct supervision of the principal to provide support as needed on the campus.
• Assist in duties such as making copies, delivering materials, and other projects, as needed.
• Assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch periods, and field trips.
• Assist in the drop-off and pick-up of children through Driveline, possibly during inclement weather.
• Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
• Alert the regular teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
• May assist staff and students in use of educational computer programs.
• Perform other related duties as required by the supervisor which do not require any professional skills.
• May periodically work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.

• High School Diploma/GED required.

• Duties are performed typically in school and/or office settings throughout the division.
• May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds.
• Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
• Must be able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone.
• Must be able to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.
• Must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check. Arizona employees require an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
