School Age Childcare Site Supervisor – After School

LOCATION: Lee F. Jackson Elementary School in White Plains, NY

PAY: $17.00 per hour

SCHEDULE: Follows the school calendar Afternoon Program: 3:00 - 6:00 pm

JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
• Ensures the safety and well-being of children in the program
• Coordinates with teachers and other staff to ensure a smooth transition between activities
• Monitors and supervises children during program hours
• Assists with administrative tasks such as record keeping and inventory management
• Participates in staff meetings and training sessions

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of direct experience working with children under 13 years of age
• A School-age Child Care Credential or other Office recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period, and one year of experience working with children less than 13 years of age
• Associate’s degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field
• Pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
• Be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the following qualification options:
• A high school diploma or its equivalent; and two years of direct experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• A School-age Child Care Credential or other Office recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period, and one year of experience working with children less than 13 years of age.
• An Associate’s degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field.

• Inventory: The site is well-stocked with the supplies and materials teachers need; nothing runs out mid-week; restocking happens before it becomes a problem
