About the role

Our before and after program offers exciting opportunities for children to explore, create, and develop essential skills in a supportive and enriching setting.
Responsibilities
- Child Supervision: Provide attentive and responsive supervision for children during before and after school care. Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including educational and recreational programs. Foster a positive and inclusive environment where all children feel valued and supported.
- Transportation Duties: Safely transport children to and from school using a designated vehicle. Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure the safety of children during transportation. Perform regular vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness and readiness of the vehicle.
- Activity Planning: Develop and implement daily activity plans that cater to the diverse interests and developmental needs of the children. Organize and supervise group activities, including arts and crafts, games, and homework help.
- Communication: Maintain open and positive communication with parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress, needs, and any incidents. Collaborate with school staff and other caregivers to ensure a seamless experience for children.
- Health and Safety: Monitor and manage the health and safety of children in your care. Administer first aid when necessary and ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and other relevant documentation.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in child care and education. Adhere to all relevant licensing and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Clean driving record with a valid driver's license.
- Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for working with children.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
