About the role

You understand firsthand what gifted students can achieve — you were one yourself. If you've spent years observing that potential wasted by low standards and uniform curricula, consider this alternative. At gt.school, your cohort of 15–20 K–12 students advances through material 5–10x faster than traditional classrooms permit. Your role centers on continually raising expectations: facilitating one-hour life skills sessions covering public speaking, focus, and feedback, and conducting personalized motivation meetings that use Coachbot analytics to align each learner's objectives with measurable progress in learning apps. You'll observe students who previously struggled with articulation complete the Test2Pass and emerge capable of presenting confidently to any audience. Your own academic credentials inform every interaction. There is no prescribed script. This position is not traditional classroom instruction. No paper grading, no classroom discipline issues, no teaching to the middle. Those who establish strong performance records here — sustained student satisfaction, 100% goal-completion rates, documented skill mastery — are considered for leadership positions, guiding a small team of colleagues while continuing to mentor their own cohort.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills sessions on public speaking, focus, and feedback for a cohort of 15–20 K–12 learners using gt.school's curriculum and your own academic background
  • Conducting personalized motivation meetings, leveraging Coachbot analytics to monitor each student's progress in learning applications relative to their objectives
  • Administering Test2Pass mastery-based assessments to validate student skill acquisition
  • Adjusting your approach dynamically through storytelling, credibility earned from your own achievements, and AI-personalized instruction to maintain challenge and engagement for gifted students
  • Monitoring progress toward 100% goal-completion and 95% student satisfaction targets

  • Running a conventional classroom — each student here has chosen to participate
  • Grading assignments, producing report cards, or managing the administrative burden typical of standard teaching positions
  • Preparing students for standardized tests or external evaluation requirements
  • Simplifying material — learners here are equipped to engage with the complete depth of your knowledge
  • Engaging with unmotivated or average-paced students

  • Daily self-reported use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or equivalent)
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Master's degree from a top-ranked research university
  • Experience as a participant or coach in competitive academic programs (MATHCOUNTS, Science Olympiad, national debate, or equivalent)
  • Background coaching high-performing students toward elite outcomes (college admissions, fellowship applications, competitive exams)
  • Training in cognitive science, educational psychology, or gifted and talented (GT) education
