About the Role
Prepares, monitors, and revises schedules, assists project teams to formulate plans to correct scheduling issues. Creates and supports the development of pursuit and construction schedules for projects. Reviews and evaluates cost loading and resource loading of schedules. Dedicated to training and developing project teams to enable them to fulfill their scheduling responsibilities. Manages and supports less experienced schedulers, including training and mentoring Scheduling Engineers and Senior Scheduling Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Provides jobsite consultations to project teams to assist with project scheduling.
- Supports project teams to resolve scheduling issues and reviews schedules for adherence to procedural and project requirements.
- Monitors and ensures accuracy of all projects, assisting with critical schedule challenges.
- Participates in project kick-off, coordination, project status, and post-construction review meetings.
- Conducts regular detailed critical path analysis for projects and performs Time Impact Analysis as requested.
- Works closely with Building Performance Solutions and Preconstruction teams as needed.
- Assists pursuit teams with the initial use of schedule templates and supports the creation of pursuit schedules.
- Provides support for Project Executives in the development of project schedules.
- Gathers and reviews data via schedule analysis, resources, and information for schedule adjustments due to market and regional factors (e.g., weather, material, labor force).
- Provides scheduling training courses through McCownGordon University and other channels.
- Assists in the maintenance and development of company training programs for scheduling.
- Trains and supports less experienced schedulers and maintains knowledge of company schedule procedures.
- Supports the scheduling department in identifying needed competencies, skills, and expertise.
- Mentors and guides associates to build a premier scheduling team.
- Provides goals and feedback for Scheduling Engineers and Senior Scheduling Engineers for career development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- AACE’s Planning and Scheduling Certification (PSP) within a year of promotion or hire.
- 6 to 10+ years of related experience.
- Fundamental understanding of BIM applications, project management software, and estimating software.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Bluebeam, SharePoint, and drawing management applications.
- Propensity toward writing macros and using Visual Basic is desirable.
- Knowledge of SmartPM and PWA.
- Proficiency in P6 Primavera software is required.
Working Conditions
The position requires work in an office environment, with project field visits as needed.
