Scheduling Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Prepares, monitors and revises schedules, assists Project Teams to formulate plans to correct scheduling issues. Creates/supports the development of pursuit and construction schedules of projects. Review and evaluate cost loading and resource loading of schedules. Dedicates time to the training and development of project teams to enable them to fulfill their scheduling responsibilities. This position will also manage and support less experienced schedulers. Trains and supports the development of Scheduling Engineers and Senior Scheduling Engineers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Schedule Support:
- Provides jobsite consultations to project teams to assist with project scheduling.
- Supports project teams to resolve scheduling issues.
- Reviews schedules for adherence to procedural and project requirements.
- Reviews, monitors, and ensures accuracy of all projects.
- Affords assistance and support to project teams on critical schedule challenges.
Project General Support:
- Participates in project kick-off, coordination, project status, and post construction review meetings.
- Conducts regular detailed critical path analysis for projects.
- Performs Time Impact Analysis as requested by project teams.
- Works closely with Building Performance Solutions and Preconstruction teams as needed.
Pursuits:
- Affords support to pursuit teams with initial use of schedule template.
- Works with operations team in support of the creation of pursuit schedules.
- Provides support for Project Executives in development of project schedules.
- Affords assistance to scheduling department with gathering and reviewing data via schedule analysis, resources, and information for schedule adjustments due to market and regional factors (weather, material, labor force, etc.).
Training and Procedure Development:
- Provides scheduling training courses to educate associates through McCownGordon University and other appropriate channels.
- Affords assistance in the maintenance and development of company training programs for scheduling.
- Provides training and support for less experienced schedulers as needed.
- Maintains working knowledge of all company schedule procedures related to construction and field operations.
Team Leadership:
- Provides support to scheduling department to identify needed competencies, skills, and expertise needed to deliver scheduling strategies and operations.
- Affords assistance in training, mentoring, and guiding all associates to become a premier scheduling team.
- Provides Goals and feedback for Scheduling Engineers and Senior Scheduling Engineers for Career Conversations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements before going into job)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
AACE’s Planning and Scheduling Certification (PSP) within a year of promotion or hire.
6 to 10 + years of related experience.
Fundamental understanding of BIM applications, Project Management Software and Estimating software.
Knowledge of technology and systems, including MS Project, Bluebeam, SharePoint, and drawing management applications.
A general knowledge of SmartPM and PWA.
Knowledge in the use of P6 Primavera software is a requirement.
