About the role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Scheduling Manager to join a dynamic operations team. This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all scheduling functions, ensuring optimal workforce coverage, and driving operational efficiency across departments.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and continuously improve scheduling systems and processes to meet operational demands
- Coordinate and maintain staff schedules across multiple departments or locations, ensuring adequate coverage at all times
- Analyze workforce data, forecast scheduling needs, and proactively address gaps or conflicts
- Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling-related inquiries from staff and management
- Collaborate with department leaders to align scheduling with production targets, service levels, and business priorities
- Maintain accurate records in scheduling software and monitor attendance, time-off requests, and schedule changes
- Lead and mentor scheduling staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to increase scheduling efficiency
- Generate scheduling reports and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with relevant labor regulations, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements where applicable
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Human Resources, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated experience in a scheduling, workforce management, or operations supervisory role
- Proficiency with scheduling software and workforce management platforms (e.g., Kronos, UKG, When I Work, or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in record-keeping and reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel for data analysis and reporting
Benefits
Base Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
