Scheduling Coordinator
Position Overview
Aids the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the schedule for all nursing service department employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Create the campus’ four (4) week Master set schedule and post it in accordance with the Campus Hourly Scheduling policy.
- Make staffing adjustments as needed due to budgetary constraints, census fluctuations, call-offs, and planned leave.
- Manage, support, and coordinate employees' PTO requests, holiday rotations, and shift trades.
- Generate all required postings such as BIPA, daily assignment sheets, and monthly schedules.
- Manage nursing hours (PPD) and maintain proper staff ratios to census.
- Manage Time and Attendance, including Attendance points, buy-backs, and shift pick-up incentives.
- Utilize Smartlinx's functionality, including posting open shifts, filling open shifts, and employee messaging.
- Meet each new employee to review their schedule, address their needs, and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Provide direct patient care as needed based on the scope of your license or certification.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED/HSE preferred.
- 1-3 Years of relevant experience preferred.
- Candidates must have a current valid state CNA, QMA, LPN, or RN credential.
- Non-clinical candidates may be considered with appropriate level of experience.
