Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Includes working one Saturday (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM) approximately every 5 weeks.

About the role
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating services between patient needs and availability. This role handles complex appointment requests, requires extensive telephone communication and customer interaction, and demands the ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Enters and validates medical, demographic, insurance, and financial data in a timely manner in the appropriate system, along with creating accurate appointments.
- Provides support and backup assistance as deemed necessary.
- Handles a wide variety of patient inquiries regarding physicians and services.
- Identifies the need for and accurately schedules interpreter services.
- Meets productivity and quality standards as stipulated by departmental goals.
- Functions as an integrated team member and works collaboratively with other staff across the system to improve patient experience.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Will be cross-trained to perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to use PCs (and toggle between multiple applications), MS Office, and multi-line phone systems. Epic software experience is preferred.
- Keyboarding and data entry skills required.
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
- Notable client service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to function both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent spelling.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in patient registration, scheduling, and/or customer service is required.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
