About the role
As a YA Scheduling Consultant, you will work independently to coordinate and manage construction schedules for various projects. You will perform inspections of project sites to evaluate progress, conduct analysis of project documents and data, relay findings, and update schedules. The role requires a large measure of independent judgment, considering and weighing alternatives while accounting for the financial and operational significance of the services performed.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of the construction planning and scheduling process, including the development of schedules and ongoing updates.
- Conduct forensic analysis of project schedules, contemporaneous documentation, and construction costs.
- Perform inspections of construction project sites to evaluate progress.
- Review and organize large amounts of construction project documents and data.
- Perform schedule delay analysis to establish the cause and extent of delays and resolve construction delay claims.
- Evaluate construction productivity and progress data, extended general conditions, and expediting expenses.
- Assess the impact of project changes and schedule delays, effectively communicating findings.
- Operate on behalf of clients to monitor and manage timelines, expenses, and other factors critical to operational efficiency and cost management during all phases of construction.
- Review and synthesize relevant information to prepare technical project reports.
- Maintain job files, documentation, and other relevant deliverables.
- Interface with other department employees, contractors, and clients on a regular basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in construction management, engineering, or an equivalent field.
- 2–8 years of construction scheduling experience.
- PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) certification preferred.
- Experience using critical path method (CPM) techniques to analyze construction project schedules.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera 6, and ASTA Powerproject.
- Previous experience or exposure to builder’s risk insurance policies, construction claims management, and managing contractors.
- Experience working on data centers or semiconductors preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team toward a common purpose.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interface with various stakeholders and clients.
