The Planning and Construction Advisory Services (PCAS) business unit specializes in pre-construction and construction consulting, including cost estimating, scheduling, and constructability reviews, helping clients align scope, schedule, and budget.

About the role

As a YA Scheduling Consultant, you will work independently to coordinate and manage construction schedules for various projects. This onsite role, based in New Albany, OH, requires a large measure of independent judgment, considering and weighing alternatives while accounting for the financial and operational significance of the services performed.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the construction planning and scheduling process, including development and ongoing updates of schedules.
  • Conduct forensic analysis of project schedules, contemporaneous documentation, and construction costs.
  • Perform inspections of construction project sites to evaluate project progress.
  • Review and organize large amounts of construction project documents and data.
  • Perform schedule delay analysis to establish the cause and extent of delays and resolve construction delay claims.
  • Evaluate construction productivity, progress data, extended general conditions, and expediting expenses.
  • Assess the impact of project changes and schedule delays, effectively communicating findings.
  • Monitor and manage timelines, expenses, and other critical factors for operational efficiency and cost management on behalf of clients.
  • Review and synthesize relevant information to prepare technical project reports.
  • Maintain job files, documentation, and other relevant deliverables.
  • Interface regularly with department employees, contractors, and clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in construction management, engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • 2-5 years of construction scheduling experience.
  • PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) certification preferred.
  • Experience using critical path method (CPM) techniques to analyze construction project schedules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera 6, and ASTA Powerproject.
  • Previous experience or exposure to builder’s risk insurance policies, construction claims management, and managing contractors.
  • Experience working on data centers or semiconductors preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team toward a common purpose.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interface with various stakeholders and clients.
