Scheduler - Surgical Services

About the role

The schedule for this position varies, the hours for the department are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical and scheduling duties in the GI department under the supervision of the SSSU Director and/or charge RN.
• Captures and coordinates pre and post procedure activities.
• Schedules GI procedure & appointments.
• Makes pre-procedure calls for registration and procedure explanations.
• Makes follow-up appointments as required and communicates to appropriate designated areas.
• Duties expanded as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, required.
• If the selected candidate is also a CNA, then a current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification must be on hire or within orientation period.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Competent in the use of computers, fax, and copy machine.
