Scheduler - Surgical Services
About the role
The schedule for this position varies, the hours for the department are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm.
Responsibilities
- Performs clerical and scheduling duties in the GI department under the supervision of the SSSU Director and/or charge RN.
- Captures and coordinates pre and post procedure activities.
- Schedules GI procedure & appointments.
- Makes pre-procedure calls for registration and procedure explanations.
- Makes follow-up appointments as required and communicates to appropriate designated areas.
- Duties expanded as directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- If the selected candidate is also a CNA, then a current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification must be on hire or within orientation period.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Competent in the use of computers, fax, and copy machine.
