Scheduler Lead - Digestive Health - Allegheny Center - Full Time
Essential Responsibilities
- Schedules procedures/surgical cases.
- Ensures smooth and complete process of surgical/procedure scheduling.
- Collaborates with all departments to ensure documentation, block release/utilization, authorization, clearances, or any unusual circumstances (denials, authorizations, self-pay questions etc.) are in place prior to procedure.
- Provides continual on-the-job-training to schedulers at other locations - problem solving, tips and techniques for out-of-block scheduling.
- Travels to other locations as necessary to provide guidance and assistance to scheduling staff with difficult problems.
- Serves as Epic scheduling champion.
- Leads the team in operational oversight, coordination for services, administrative support for leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in scheduling of rooms, procedures, patients or surgeries.
- Experience with ICD-10 and CPT codes.
- PREFERRED: Certificate/Degree Medical Secretary - vocational or technical program, Associate's degree.
