About the role
The Scheduler ensures all scheduling processes—nominations, confirmations, and settlements—are executed accurately and on time relative to pipeline and department cutoffs. This role analyzes data, monitors and reconciles imbalances, sets up make-up/pay-back schedules with shippers, and initiates settlements. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to cultivate positive relationships are essential.
Responsibilities
- Nominate storage activity for the storage company electronic bulletin board (EBB) and internal gas management systems for optimization activities; communicate natural gas nominations with traders.
- Communicate daily requirements with customers and cultivate relationships with scheduling counterparts at customers and pipeline representatives to ensure operational integrity.
- Schedule daily volumes for producer and buyer contracts.
- Access and accurately populate pipeline EBBs.
- Recommend market area supply alternatives and storage strategies; track storage injections, withdrawals, and balances.
- Confirm daily and monthly nominations with storage company pipeline interconnects.
- Confirm physical volume activity is accurate; re-confirm bi-weekly and month-end volumes via interconnecting pipeline EBBs.
- Collaborate with gas accountants to establish and implement invoice procedures; update databases to prepare invoices and statements.
- Assist in resolving billing discrepancies and respond to questions regarding term transactions.
- Communicate rate, tariff, fuel rate, and operational conditions to the front office; contact gas producers and buyers to verify their requirements.
- Maintain daily spreadsheets and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Engineering, or Economics.
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a gas marketing company.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Master’s or MBA.
- Minimum seven (7) years of senior-level experience at a gas marketing company.
- Experience with Endur/Endur pathing, Daily Live, and G2 systems.
- Knowledge of US gas pipeline systems and market areas.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills.
- Understanding of accounting principles and procedures for gas accounting.
- Safety as the utmost priority.
Schedule
Available 24/7/365; must be willing to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts, and holidays as needed.
