Scheduler/Cost Controller

About the role

The Scheduler / Cost Controller position is within LaBella's Program Management Services Division and can be remote/hybrid. The role supports complex projects and multi-year capital programs through comprehensive management services including business consulting, project management, financial control, and administrative support.

Responsibilities

• Produce a variety of regular and ad-hoc reports in support of project planning and control initiatives.
• Work closely with the project team to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.
• Develop, implement, prepare, reconcile, and maintain project control data and reports.
• Assist with meeting client objectives by preparing monitoring project and developer financial attributes, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
• Verify the accuracy of all cost information, including proper coding and allocation to the project budget.
• Prepare required accounting and project cost reports, reports on deviations, under-runs, and over-runs, and prepare forecasts and cost trend reports.
• Review and evaluate trends and their impact on project costs, monitor project costs and commitments to budget and forecast, maintain change control and the change order register, assess progress measurement, and develop/updating progress curves for progress reporting.
• Responsible for Earned Value Management (EVM) during all project stages.
• Develop an Integrated Master Schedule of the project according to owner standards and approved scheduling tools.
• Perform Current Schedule and Cost (EV, AC) vs. Performance Measurement Baseline analysis, compare and highlight major activity deviations, and update plans based on monthly updates.
• Perform Critical Path Analysis, identify and analyze critical paths/activities to ascertain project completion in time and in budget, including forecasting delays and evaluating alternative scenarios.
• Provide guidance to other project personnel on good scheduling practices and techniques.
• Manage and ensure the reconciliation of program controls data with financial and performance systems, coordinating with Project Managers.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Controlling and 4 years of experience in Construction Project Scheduling.
• A Bachelor's degree preferred.
• CAPM or PMI-SP Certificate or equivalent (requires client's approval).
• SAP experience required.
• Primavera (preferred) and/or MS Project experience required.
• Experience in the functional area under which it will be contracted: Substations, T&D, Gas-Hydro and OSG.
