Scheduler

About the role

Transdev in New Carrollton, MD is hiring a Scheduler to intercept customer calls and schedule transportation. We are seeking friendly, customer service-oriented people who are dedicated to safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily schedules to balance productivity, efficiency, and customer service standards.
• Review trip schedules for inefficiencies or policy violations and make adjustments to resolve these issues.
• Schedule transfer trips, subscription trips, and unscheduled trip requests to appropriate runs or non-dedicated providers.
• Oversee the nightly manifesting and reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Verify data for completed manifests to support monthly reporting requirements.
• Provide support to Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) on trip scheduling and related inquiries.
• Collaborate with OCC staff to address scheduling challenges and improve service delivery.
• Contact customers during the scheduling process, when appropriate, to negotiate pickup windows to optimize service efficiency.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support overall scheduling operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years reservationist or customer service experience.
• Computer literate.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work is accomplished indoors in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
• Sit, type, and look at a computer for extended periods (up to 6–9 hours per day).
• Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in written correspondence.
• Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.

Pay

Starting pay $22.00 with progression to $38.91 over 7 years (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay Scale).
