About the role

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a part‑time Scheduler for the Cardiac Unit. The position works the day shift, 2‑3 days per week.

The Scheduler will schedule appointments and procedures for patients, verify patient information, handle order entry, communications, guest relations, medical records maintenance, and analysis, and perform various clerical and administrative duties.

Sentara Leigh Hospital is a 274‑bed acute‑care facility with a dedicated Orthopedic Hospital, accredited Primary Stroke Center, Magnet designation for nursing excellence, and specialized programs in orthopedics, spine, heart, vascular, maternity, general surgery, and a 24‑hour hyperbaric oxygen program.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and procedures for patients and verify patient information.
• Manage the order entry process.
• Handle communications and guest relations.
• Maintain medical records and perform related analysis.
• Perform various clerical and administrative duties.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related area such as customer service, a medical office, or a healthcare environment.
• Some experience with EPIC, Cupid, or other scheduling software.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Schedule

Part‑time, day shift (First shift – Days), working 2‑3 days per week.

Pay

Base pay range for full‑time employment is $21.69 – $32.44 hourly. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Pay may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
