Scheduler
This position supports the Department of Defense at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) and reports to the Project Manager. The role is 100% on-site in San Antonio, TX.
About the role
Provide direct support to mechanical, fire protection, and project engineers for all required activities. Offer consulting expertise on complex technical issues across civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering disciplines. Use this knowledge to produce accurate cost estimates and schedules for programming, budgeting, and contract award of complex multi-contract projects. Maintain awareness of technical advances and methods.
Develop detailed cost estimates from a construction contractor’s perspective, analyzing factors such as labor markets, contractor availability, productivity, specialized skills/equipment, material requirements, mobilization/demobilization, location accessibility, transportation, safety, taxes, insurance, and profit. Track cost and schedule performance, assess program/project status, analyze trends, and identify potential issues or areas of concern. Provide a monthly management report to support successful cost and schedule execution.
Responsibilities
- Support mechanical, fire protection, and project engineers in all required activities.
- Provide consulting expertise on complex technical issues within civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
- Develop accurate cost estimates and schedules for multi-contract projects.
- Analyze factors impacting cost and schedule, including labor markets, contractor availability, productivity, and material requirements.
- Track and report on cost and schedule performance, identifying trends and potential issues.
- Prepare and deliver monthly management reports to ensure successful project execution.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- More than 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Quality Control and familiarity with RMS.
- Past experience with USACE or Air Force Military Construction (MILCON) projects preferred.
- US citizenship is required due to government contract and clearance requirements.
