Responsibilities
- Create, manage, and adjust staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Collaborate with nursing, administrative, and support staff to address scheduling conflicts, shift swaps, and time-off requests.
- Ensure that all schedules comply with relevant labor laws, regulations, and facility policies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for staff regarding scheduling issues and provide timely resolution to any scheduling conflicts or concerns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee hours, attendance, and time-off requests.
- Generate and analyze scheduling reports to monitor staffing levels, identify trends, and support management decisions.
- Aid in onboarding new staff members and provide training on scheduling procedures as needed.
- Cover emergency staffing needs and communicate with temporary staffing agencies if required.
- Utilize scheduling software and other tools effectively to streamline scheduling processes and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in scheduling or administrative roles, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency with scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); ability to work independently and manage time effectively; detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy; problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
