About the Role
The applicant will assist product and project teams by developing, integrating, and presenting task-oriented activities in a comprehensive Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using Microsoft Project and Milestone Professional. Responsibilities include creating a detailed IMS for all critical activities, performing health checks, conducting what-if analyses, and presenting schedule data clearly using accepted schedule management techniques.
Responsibilities
- Provide schedule status reviews and updates to team leads.
- Perform IMS health checks and what-if analyses using Government-approved software at the request of USG team leads.
- Present IMS-related information during recurring meetings and develop supporting materials (e.g., slides, reports) using Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Develop and maintain schedules for complex government or commercial engineering/technical programs, with preference for ground combat vehicle systems experience.
- Participate as an active team member in formulating integrated project plans and representing them in an integrated schedule.
- Analyze technical requirements, budgets, timelines, and leadership guidance to translate them into complex integrated project schedules.
- Apply advanced project development techniques to ensure schedules are complete, technically sound, and assessable for timing or task changes.
- Familiarity with DoD Integrated Master Plan and Integrated Master Schedule Preparation and Use Guide (DI-MGMT-81650).
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship (required due to sensitivity of customer-related requirements).
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Minimum of 5 consecutive years (within the last 10 years) of experience as a program scheduler for complex government or commercial engineering/technical programs.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP) Acquisition Category (ACAT I/II) programs.
- Experience working on military acquisition programs.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with project management/scheduling tools: Microsoft Project, KIDASA Milestone Professional, Oracle Primavera, or Barbecana Full Monte, including Monte Carlo simulation tools (e.g., @RISK).
- Experience with schedule logic (e.g., Defense Contract Management Agency 14-point evaluation) and analysis tools/techniques.
- Familiarity with modeling techniques related to cost and schedule.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Project Management, Business Management/Administration, or related field plus 6 years of applicable experience, or
- Bachelor’s Degree in the above fields plus 8 years of applicable experience, or
- Associate’s Degree in the above fields plus 10 years of applicable experience, or
- High School Diploma plus 16 years of applicable experience.
Skills
- Strong experience with cross-functional and integrated process teams on complex activities.
- Proficiency in participatory leadership techniques and management fundamentals for team-based planning and schedule development.
- Ability to lead and manage groups when necessary.
- Competency in schedule development (e.g., Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel) and schedule logic analysis.
