About the role
We are a national contractor with over 30 billion in backlog. Many local projects but we also support other industrial construction throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and update detailed CPM schedules using Primavera P6 for industrial and construction projects.
- Create and maintain baseline schedules, perform schedule updates, and produce regular progress reports and variance analyses.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, planners and subcontractors to gather progress data, identify delays and agree on corrective actions.
- Perform schedule risk analysis, develop mitigation and recovery plans, and model alternative scenarios to support decision-making.
- Resource leveling and logic development to ensure realistic sequencing and interface management across trades and scopes.
- Prepare and present schedule updates, forecasts and impact assessments for internal teams, clients and stakeholders during project meetings.
- Support claims and change management by documenting delays, preparing time impact analyses and maintaining accurate records of schedule revisions.
- Integrate look-ahead planning (short-term) with the master schedule to support site coordination and sequencing.
- Ensure schedules comply with contract requirements, project milestones and regulatory constraints relevant to industrial construction.
- Continuously improve scheduling processes and tools, and mentor junior schedulers when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on scheduling experience on industrial or heavy construction projects; experience with EPC projects a plus.
- Proven expertise with Primavera P6 (scheduling, baseline management, resource/unit assignments and reporting).
- Strong knowledge of CPM scheduling techniques, float management, logic development and schedule compression methods.
- Experience preparing time impact analyses and supporting claims/change order evaluations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel (including advanced functions), and scheduling reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to present complex schedule information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Detail-oriented, analytical and able to work under pressure to meet reporting deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Professional certifications such as PMI-SP, PSP or equivalent are desirable but not required.
