Short Description
- Knowledge of medical insurance terminology
- Computer skills for scheduling
- Familiarity of general office procedures and equipment
- Arranging appointments for care
- Providing exceptional customer service
- Verifying insurance eligibility and ensuring that insurance requirements are met prior to delivery of service
- Explaining financial requirements to the patients or responsible parties including authorization process and deductibles
- Accurately processing all requests and documents appropriate information within a time-sensitive environment
- Dealing with the public with professionalism and compassion in stressful situations
- Preventing, calming, or defusing irate callers and patients by working with them to identify concerns and properly directing calls
- Listening to inquiries from patients, physicians, clients or staff, answering phone, and speaking with patients
Experience Required
- Extensive knowledge of medical/radiology terminology
- Minimum 3 years medical office/authorization/insurance experience, preferred
- Positive, upbeat disposition with ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Word/Excel and EMR
- Good organizational skills
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
