Audubon is seeking a Junior Scheduler to join our team in our Houston, TX Energy Corridor office. Under the direction of the Project Controls Manager and/or Scheduling Manager, the Scheduler will assist in developing project schedules using the Critical Path Method for engineering (E), engineering and procurement (EP), and/or engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) programs consisting of inter-relating projects of varying size, complexity, and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Generate accurate project schedules using Primavera P6 software (and MS Project as needed).
- Develop schedules for a variety of industrial projects, including Oil and Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Agricultural, Pulp and Paper, and other industrial manufacturing processes and systems.
- Identify relationships, logic, milestones, constraints, and resource loading of cost and man hours; maintain and update schedules regularly.
- Communicate and coordinate between various individuals and departments to proactively manage the schedule, update progress, and anticipate delays.
- Plan resources (e.g., manpower, capital, facilities, and material expenses) in schedule development.
- Review third-party submitted schedules to validate compliance with specifications, staging, and logic.
- Validate scheduled activities independently in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments.
- Create milestone schedules for delivery of engineering deliverables, equipment, raw materials, subcontracted work, and labor.
- Function as a productive team member in scheduling and developing engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Review and analyze Notices of Change and Requests for Change for schedule impact.
- Assist in preparing Schedule Analysis reports with explanations of schedule variances.
- Execute other project controls activities, such as cost and budget monitoring, issue management, meeting facilitation, document control, and monthly status reporting to the owner.
- Support Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, including:
- Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety.
- Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities.
- Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- BA, BS, or related experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a project scheduler in the industrial engineering and/or construction industry.
- Exemplary communication skills (written, analytical, negotiating, and interpersonal).
- Experience developing project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or other scheduling tools.
- Experience attending/conducting client or sub-contractor schedule reviews and vendor interfacing.
- Cost/Earned Value experience is a plus.
- Capital Cost Estimating is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and Microsoft Outlook.
