Scheduler - Admitting

Responsibilities

• Schedules tests/procedure cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event.
• Coordinates with departments as necessary.
• Enters accurate, complete and thorough patient demographics into the computer system, including insurance and authorizations if applicable.
• Notifies departments as necessary of services requiring equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries.
• Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on-call list to appropriate departments or personnel.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
• Knowledge of multiple insurance authorization requirements
• 1-2 years previous experience in a hospital environment preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Customer Services experience required
• Strong clerical and computer skills

Pay

The current compensation range for this role is $23.15 to $32.05. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
