About the role

The Scenic Carpenter/Welder is responsible for designing, constructing, and assembling scenic elements for theatrical productions.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed blueprints and models for scenic elements.
  • Assemble and install scenic elements using welding and carpentry techniques.
  • Collaborate with designers and directors to ensure scenic elements meet production requirements.
  • Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in scenic construction or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in welding and carpentry techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Skills

  • Welding certification (preferred).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (preferred).
  • Knowledge of theatrical design principles.
