About the role
The Scenic Carpenter/Welder is responsible for designing, constructing, and assembling scenic elements for theatrical productions.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed blueprints and models for scenic elements.
- Assemble and install scenic elements using welding and carpentry techniques.
- Collaborate with designers and directors to ensure scenic elements meet production requirements.
- Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Technology or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in scenic construction or equivalent.
- Proficiency in welding and carpentry techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Skills
- Welding certification (preferred).
- Proficiency in CAD software (preferred).
- Knowledge of theatrical design principles.

$50-$60 per hour based on experience.
