Scanner/Pallet Jack Operator

About the Role

Join our team as a Pallet Jack Operator in Portioning and help keep our production flow running strong! We’re looking for a skilled, safety-driven operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in moving materials with accuracy and efficiency. In this role, you’ll use powered industrial equipment to transport products throughout the facility, supporting storage, staging, docking, and production needs to keep operations on track.

Responsibilities

• Utilize production schedules and/or shipping orders to transport materials or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility.
• Move product packed on pallets or in crates as required.
• Check to make sure loads are secure.
• Stack empty pallets as needed.
• Notify supervisor of any pallets which are not in the correct locations.
• Perform daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck's battery and lubricating equipment.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Use RF scanner handheld unit to scan pallets as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner following facility guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.
• Prior experience operating pallet jacks is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is beneficial but not required.
• Experience in a poultry processing/manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

• Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
• May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
• May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
• May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
• May be exposed to dust, feathers, and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
• Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
• Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors (10 ppm) and chlorine (less than 20 ppm).
• Able to stand for several hours.
• Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, and pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
