Scaler/ Transporter - 2nd Shift

About the role

Location: Wells, MN. Reports to: [[hiringManagerTitle]]. Classification: Nonexempt. Work Arrangement: Physical Classification: 1-7 (see Back & Task Chart).

Weigh boxes of product to designated specifications. Complete necessary paperwork or computer entry and perform temperature and metal detector checks.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate scale and tape machine.
• Arrange packing room for the product being run.
• Perform frozen temperature and metal detector checks.
• Advise packers of product type and how product is to be packed.
• Weigh all boxes to meet minimum weight and counts.
• Check scale for proper tare.
• Ensure proper label, stamp and date code are on boxes.
• Keep work area clean.
• May be required to bend, lift and twist frequently throughout the work shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Working conditions: High noise, varied temperatures (warm to cold), slippery floors, moving equipment and dust may be present. Wear appropriate PPE and other equipment as necessary or required.

Qualifications

• Display positive attitude and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day.
• Ability to frequently bend, lift and twist.
• Must pass the company physical classification test for essential functions of the position.
• Job selection criteria: work experience, job evaluations, HR records (attendance, warnings, notices, etc.), personal interviews, job‑related tests (math, typing, etc.), previous training and/or education, and length of service with Brakebush Brothers, Inc.
• If you have been in your current salaried position for less than six months, you must have approval from your VP before applying for a new salaried position that is at a lateral job/wage level or lower.
• If you are applying for a salaried position after less than six months in your current position, and it is at a higher job/wage level, you do not need approval.
• Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test and background check are required.
• Applicants must have legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States; work sponsorship of employment visas is not provided.

Pay

Wage: $22.31 per hour.

Schedule

Hours: 2:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. (Hours may vary).
