About the role

Join Pratt Paper, a leader in the sustainable recycling and packaging industry, as a Scale House Operator. In this crucial role, you'll serve as the nerve center of our Recycling division's inbound and outbound traffic, ensuring the seamless and compliant flow of materials. You are the first impression for our drivers and the gatekeeper of our inventory data.

Responsibilities

• Traffic Management: Coordinate all truck traffic, managing the flow of inbound and outbound loads to prevent delays and maintain smooth operations.
• Data & Logistics Gatekeeper: Precisely enter incoming load data for recycling materials, issue drop tickets for trailers, log details on the receiving log, and communicate with drivers and management regarding release numbers, rejections, and notifications (e.g., chemical loads).
• Operational Oversight: Use camera systems to monitor dock availability and proactively communicate with the yard to maintain a constant flow of materials.
• Team Communication: Act as the radio contact point for the Reject Yard and maintain clear communication with managers on operational issues or critical load details.
• Scale House Stewardship: Keep the scale house organized and fully stocked with necessary tools and resources.

Requirements

• Tech Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Experience with 10-Key data entry is a plus.
• Sharp Thinking: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions (written, oral, or diagram).
• Math Aptitude: Strong numerical reasoning, including calculating percentages, proportions, and volume.
• Communication Power: Excellent verbal and written English language skills for clear communication with drivers and team members.

Qualifications

A post-secondary degree (Associate's, Bachelor's, or Technical School certification) is preferred, but equivalent experience and a proven track record in logistics, data entry, or a similar high-volume coordination role are valued.

Pay

This position offers a base salary of $33,500. With built-in overtime, annual earnings reach $46,063, complemented by a monthly incentive.

Schedule

This is a 24/7 operation requiring a 4-shift rotational schedule, including 12-hour shifts.
