Scale Attendant

About the role

LeMay, a Waste Connections Company, is looking for a Scale Attendant to join the team at our location in Aberdeen, WA. The schedule for this position will be Tuesday through Saturday; 8 am to 5 pm. Starting pay will be $19.50 per hour with yearly pay raises.

Responsibilities

• Solicit sale of new or additional services
• Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station as a cashier
• Responsible for balancing out a cash drawer and reconciling a Credit Card Machine
• Weighing trucks in and out and calculating payments for customers
• Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures
• Ensuring that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material
• Work on your feet outside throughout your shift
• Providing general upkeep of the Scale House

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
• Ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required
• 2 years of Customer Service experience
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Email preferred
• Typing and 10-key skills are required
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Ability to analyze and solve problems
• Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
