About the role
The Scaffold Foreman is responsible for leading scaffold operations on job sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project scope and schedule. This role oversees scaffold crews, coordinates with customers and management, and ensures compliance with all safety regulations, company standards, and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and management to understand project scope, schedules, and expectations.
- Cookinate with Construction Managers to ensure alignment on job requirements and execution.
- Maintain a safe worksite by monitoring and enforcing compliance with all safety regulations and project safety programs.
- Supervise scaffold crews and provide hands-on support with craft labor as needed.
- Manage job site manpower to ensure productivity and control costs, including minimizing overtime.
- Review and execute work according to pre-job plans, ensuring all work aligns with design and contract requirements.
- Identify and document out-of-scope work to support change order processes and cost recovery.
- Perform administrative tasks including inventory tracking, safety meetings, hazard analysis, fall protection planning, and job documentation.
- Complete and maintain accurate records such as payroll time sheets, equipment rentals, return tickets, time and material tickets, and bills of material.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on scaffolding experience in commercial or industrial environments.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience leading scaffold crews.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, scaffold designs, submittals, and structural drawings.
- Proficiency in completing scaffold inspection reports and maintaining documentation logs.
- Experience using job site reporting tools and software for timekeeping, safety tracking, and inventory management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with field crews, customers, and management.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including training, mentoring, and holding team members accountable.
- Physically capable of working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to travel between job sites required.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification required.
- OSHA Competent Person certification for scaffolding (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and local/state scaffold regulations.
