Scaffold Carpenter
About the role
We're seeking a dependable and safety-focused Scaffold Carpenter to assist the Scaffold Leadman with the safe erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling of scaffold systems for industrial construction and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate is a team player with scaffold-building experience, a strong work ethik, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Scaffold Leadman in the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffold systems.
- Assemble scaffold components, including frames, tubes, clamps, braces, platforms, guardrails, and access systems.
- Read and follow scaffold drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Inspect scaffold materials before use and report damaged or defective equipment.
- Load, unload, organize, and transport scaffold materials to and from work areas.
- Ensure scaffolds are erected safely and in compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and customer requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store scaffold components.
- Work closely with the Scaffold Leadman and crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
- Follow all company safety policies, participate in daily safety meetings, and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report unsafe conditions, hazards, and equipment issues to the Scaffold Leadman or supervisor.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Scaffold Carpenter, Scaffold Builder, or Industrial Carpenter preferred.
- Basic knowledge of scaffold systems, components, and safe erection practices.
- Ability to read tape measures, scaffold drawings, blueprints, and work specifications.
- Experience using hand and power tools commonly used in scaffold construction.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively under the supervision of a Scaffold Leadman.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
- Background Check, Hair Follicle Drug Testing, TWIC Card, and Basic Plus Safety Orientation preferred (as required by the project).
